PMI's brand new certification, PgMPSM, which stands for Program Management Professional, is intended to recognize individuals who manages multiple projects in an organization.
The new credential enhances a growing suite of globally applicable certification offerings and complements the Project Management Professional (PMPĀ®) credential as well as the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPMĀ®) credential.
The PgMP credential has been specifically developed to acknowledge the qualifications of professionals who lead the coordinated management of multiple projects and ensure the ultimate success of a program. Candidates that pursue the PgMP credential will be evaluated through a sequence of assessments, including:
- Application Review by PMI staff and a Panel of Program Managers
- Multiple-choice Exam
- Multi-rater Assessmen
Individuals do not need to possess a PMP credential in order to be eligible.
